Think Big

Why is it we look at ourselves through the same eyes that we would view society?  Why is it that we judge ourselves by how big our house is or how new our car is?  Why is it everyone's number one goal is to achieve that next promotion, that new vacation home, that new decimal place in our retirment plans?  I guess in the scheme of things goals are great to have, goals were meant to be achieved, and without them we wouldn't feel that constant drive toward our next day.  I guess I wonder why all of those dreams for a lot of folks are put before the reality of what God wants for our lives. God wants us to be rich in him, God wants us to be financially secure, God wants us to be promoted.  He wants nothing but the best for us in our life, but sometimes we don't see it that way.  Society views money on a pattern of completion - meaning we plan, acquire, enjoy, repay, save, and if their is any money left, we give.  56% of all divorces are the result of financial pressure. It boggles my mind to think that in a society who plan's, acquires, and enjoys all things first, their is nothing but room for financial pressure. God wants us to be good stewards with our finances.  He wants us to plan what we do with our money, give to him what is his, save for a rainy day, repay our debts, and then enjoy life as he meant us too.  He wants us to be responsible.  Ever wonder why someone might have more money than you do? Ever wonder why it just doesn't seem fair?  Next time that thought pops into your mind - ponder this - God gives us what he feels we can be responsible with.  He gives us what he feels we can be good stewards of.  Are we being good stewards of what we might feel is little?  If not, maybe He can't even trust us with that!  Proverbs 21:20 says,' Valuables are safe in a wise person's home; but fools put them all out for yard sales. ' Sometimes it's not how much you make, but how wisely you spend what you have.

I Love that Proverb. It is so true. Last year Supatra and I had our first yard sale. We didn't realize how much junk we had till we started looking for stuff to sell. WOW!
